European Union Agrees to Impose Oil Embargo on Iran

The countries that follow under the European union agreed to impose an embargo on Iranian oil produce. The french are using this embargo to bring Iran's uranium enrichment to a stop, and in turn end nuclear weapon development. Any other sanctions placed on Iran will be made to take action with a final decision from the European union by the end of this month. Iran has taken action, they have threatened to close the straight of Hormuz, fired test missiles, announcing first nuclear fuel rod and warning the U.S not to revisit the Persian gulf.

U.S. Rejects Current Draft of EU Code of Conduct For Outer Space Activities

The U.S recently rejected the current draft of EU code of conduct. This means the us will not be signing onto the current draft of EU code of conduct for outer space activities. Ellen Tauscher who is undersecretary of state of arms said that administration was not going to sign it from the beginning. Richard buenneke, senior advisory for space policy for the US department of state updated the STOWG on the review of the code. Any intentions to sign it in 2012 where left to change when the U.S announced that later in 2011 that it would refrain from signing the code until an undetermined time.
